The Iroquois
We believe that Cartier thought the Iroquois were nice, friendly, and welcoming to him. They were very helpful to them, such as the time when most of Cartiers' companions had gotten scurvy. The Iroquois boiled and crushed the twigs and bark of the white-cedar tree. However, their friendliness ended when the Iroquois found out that the people Cartier took with him to France were dead but one.
